ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
HIGHLIGHTS:
The meeting was held at the Davis Auditorium, Professional Education
Center, Camp Robinson from 17:00 to 18:00 on 13 October 2004.
There were a total of 84 members present. Member-at-Large Jim Schulte
made opening remarks and welcome.
EC members present were Secretary Vic Marcelle, Treasurer Ken Berry,
Member-at-Large Jim Schulte. President J. R. Treharne and
Member-at-Large Micah Marchand were both absent due to mobilization and
the President-Pro-Tem was unable to attend.
The following personnel were inducted into the Shooter’s Hall of Fame
for 2004:
Grant
Bacon, New Jersey
Franklin
Smith, Arkansas
Ron
Fleischhacker, Alaska
Election of Officers was conducted for the upcoming two years, the
following were elected to the Executive Committee:
President Pro-Tem Larry Grace
Secretary Victor Marcelle
A motion from the floor was made and approved to purchase polo shirts
for the All-States Trophy Winner of the WPW matches. The winner this
year was Pennsylvania.
Numerous door prizes were given out again this year. They ranged from a
$600 riflescope to Association merchandise. Everyone present walked away
with something.
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE HIGHLIGHTS:
A phone conference meeting of the Executive Committee was held on 8
November 2004, at 2:00 p.m. Committee members present were President
Pro-Tem Larry Grace, Member-at-Large Jim Schulte and Treasurer Ken
Berry.
The Treasurer reported that since the mail permit was discontinued, our
first email effort on the newsletter, we sent out 172 emails and had 62
returned as bad email addresses.
Also, it was decided by the EC to only keep a maximum of $10,000 in the
checking account and place the balance in a certificate of deposit.
A Thank You letter from Vermont SARTS was read by the Treasurer thanking
the Association for their assistance in acquiring two rifles for the
SARTS section.
It was recommended and approved that the Association be affiliated with
the Friends of the NRA and the Civilian Marksmanship Program. Both are
heavily involved in Junior Marksmanship.
Membership Report
We had a total of 30 annual, 2 Life members and 1 Associate Life member.
Membership is down from last year, when we had a total of 27 annual
members, 6 Associate Annual, 1 Corporate Annual and 1 Life.
Purchase of Sniper Coins was brought up and voted against. This request
was denied for the second and final time.
The Treasurer reminded the EC that this was his last year and requested
that they start looking for his replacement.
